Batawa Ski Hill
Ontario
Batawa Ski Hill was first started in 1955 by a dedicated group of Bata Shoe Factory employees. The employees obtained permission from Mr. Thomas Bata to clear some trees and install a homemade rope tow on one of the hills close to the shoe factory. All the work was done by volunteers who had a keen interest in community spirit and skiing.
Today, the ski hill has evolved to three lifts and seven runs and is operated by a General Manager and Board of Directors. There is not a better place to learn how to ski or snowboard in the area. Batawa Ski Hill is also a great hill to get back in shape, if you are planning a ski vacation.
Batawa is 5km north of the 401 at exit 525, Highway 33 North from Trenton. Once in Batawa, follow the signs. The Ski Hill is about 5 minutes from the 401.
